At the beauty salon, as the beautician was waxing my legs some wax flew up onto my silk top. I took it to the dry cleaners who said that it was unlikely they would be able to get the stain out. They suggested soaking the top in cold water for one hour. I tried it but it didn’t work. Will get it dry cleaned to see if that works.
The beauty supply stores sell a wax remover that might work. It is really used to clean out the wax heater pots and implements, but it might work on your top. The only thing is that it is silk. You also might try Weimann’s wax remover available in discount and craft stores. It is used to remove candle wax from holders, but I have used it on table runners, napkins, furniture surfaces, etc. It will leave an oily residue and when it does, I pile salt, cornstarch, borax, baking soda or even talc on the area, let it absorb the excess oil and then wash or launder with a pre-spotter or dawn dishwashing soap. All that being said, none of the fabrics have been silk which is tempermental and generally liquids leave rings on.

Metallic holly-red wax is a gorgeous complement to fanciful swirls of lustrous gold glitter, gracing a classic column candle with enchanting holiday sparkle! Whether your style is traditionally tasteful or marvelously modern, this candle adds classic beauty to your yuletide home. Paraffin wax. Unscented. 3 diameter x 6 high.
Why you should wax your floors frequently.
How to wax floors and prepare for waxing. Different kinds of floor wax.
Many homeowners today prefer hardwood or other type of solid surface flooring to wall to wall carpeting. The initial appeal is the beauty of wood floor but the easy upkeep of wood floors is also a big factor. Lightly sweeping and dusting. along with an occasional waxing is about all wood floors require.
In comparison to heavy vacuuming and the necessity of steam cleaning at least once a year. caring for wood floors seems to be a breeze. If you apply a protective coating of wax to a wood floor. the wood will be preserved and stay cleaner and in good repair longer. Floor wax gives wood floors a beautiful glow and it also protects and maintains other types of floors such as linoleum. This gives the flooring a beautiful appearance that makes the home more attractive. Applying wax consistently will also protect the flooring from water and moisture damage. It can minimize the appearance of scratches. grooves and ridges in the flooring and prevent further such damage. The appeal of a clean. shiny. freshly waxed floor cannot be denied. Wax works to protect hardwood and other floors by reducing the abrasion they are exposed to. Grit and grime slide over the surface of a waxed floor instead of being ground in.
Floor wax can be purchased in three varieties: water based. solvent based and polymer. Some people are concerned about health problems in dealing with floor wax because it contains chemicals; some floor waxes even contain formaldehyde. The companies that make floor wax are aware of these concerns and have now started to make products that do not contain harsh chemicals and are environmentally safe to use. These types of waxes are becoming more commonly available. No-wax floors have become popular. not only because of the concerns about chemicals and the environment. but also because many families with two working partners do not have the time for too many household chores. But even no wax floors need to be cleaned frequently and. if damage occurs to the surface. they may have to be waxed anyway to add the protection that has been removed.
Waxing a floor is good for protecting the surface and also looks beautiful. but since wax builds up over time. it does need to be removed once in a while by stripping the floor. Wax removers also contain chemicals so they need to be used with caution. and anyone who is using them should understand what chemicals they are dealing with and protect themselves accordingly. Masks against fumes and gloves to handle the liquids may be necessary if you are going to take on this chore.

I need help!!!
I started waxing my upper lip because I keep getting allergic to the creams to remove facial hair! So I used the waxing strips that you warm up between your hands and then your open the strip then wan your face but everytime I wax I always get marks on my face and I have one that turned looking like a zit! Is there a way I can prevent this or do something to cure it? Is there a cheap way to resolve this?
Thank you! PLease help me!!!!!!
Jsyk I am pulling them in the same direction as the hair is growing.
The scarring is mostly on the side of my lip and another on the other side
this is gross but if u look closely youll see that the hairs on ur upper lip slant away from the nose. i think ur pulling the wax strip towards ur nose when u should pull it away.

Hi,
I recently had a full leg wax and think that I want more waxing done. It was for charity and I volunteered to have my legs waxed if my work could raise $5000.
When I got to the beauty salon the beautician who was to wax me asked how far up my leg I wanted done and I didn’t really know. She said that seeing it was my first time that I may as well get the works, so a full leg wax. While I thought that just above the knee would be fine I didn’t want to argue as they had donated the waxing service.
I was shown into a room and asked to take off my shoes, socks and pants and place on a smallish wrap around type of skirt (very attractive look). Fiona the beautician then started on my lower legs which didn’t hurt anything compared to what I had expected. After doing the front and backs of my lower legs she continued upwards. I was to discover why I needed to wear the skirt as it let her access very very high on my leg while I could maintain my modesty. I must admit that the whole experience was quite exciting as I’d never had anything like this done before. She was waxing beside my underpants line when she asked if that was high enough. She said that she would do a bikini wax if I was ok with that and I instantly agreed. So she waxed my whole groin region as well (stings quite a bit there) with the exception of my privates.
With my legs and bikini line now silky smooth I thanked Fiona and headed home. I loved the experience of feeling my now smooth legs. Must say that I wasn’t thinking much and when I showed my wife when I got home she was shocked that I’d agreed to have some much waxed. I tried to say that they said that I should get the works so who was I to disagree but that didn’t really work.
Am I weird for agreeing to a full leg and bikini wax? I would love to have more waxing done but not sure my wife would agree? Any words of advice???
Also now very tempted to get my ears pierced and nearly had them done while at the salon. I asked Fiona about ear piercing during my waxing appointment and was very close to getting them done there and then as well. Should I get my ears pierced as well and if so how many? Does getting your ears pierced hurt?
Look forward to your advice.
Thanks.
It all depends on each individual how they like their body to look, I do not like hairy men, and as for ear pierced it is just as a needle poke.

My therapist admitted to me that she does get a certain amount of malicious pleasure from being merciless when waxing a client.
I suspect that it must be true for most people who do waxing professionally…
I am a skincare therapist and I don’t get any pleasure out of waxing someone but the money that comes afterward. If that was the case then all the ob/gyn’s are getting pleasure as well.
I need to go waxing before I go on holiday. I live in London and need to find a very good salon, because once I went to a random one and ended up with a bacterial infection all over my legs. It doesn’t matter if it costs a hundred pounds or so, I just want a premium and reliable salon. Any suggestions?…

Any post graduate school or any other higher education facility is going to move students ahead further than if they only had a high school diploma. Students are discovering cosmetic <a title=”Canyon State laser schools provide the training you need!” href=http://canyonstatelaser.com/page/1lq8e/Resources/Laser_Schools.html>laser schools</a> offer higher wages and benefits than attending standard beauty school.
Besides haircuts and manicures, men and women are splurging for even more. Even in this economy, people are paying big bucks for cosmetic laser treatments such as:
• Laser Hair Removal
• Restylane and Juvederm Facial Injections
• Microderm Abrasion
• Tattoo Removal
• Other Medi-Spa Treatments
Graduates of cosmetic laser school receive <a title=For the latest news on Restylane training, go to Canyon State Laser!” href=http://canyonstatelaser.com/page/1lq8f/Resources/Restylane_Training.htm>Restylane training</a> and <a title=”Juverderm is a specialty offered by Canyon State Laser.” href=http://canyonstatelaser.com/page/1lq8c/Resources/Juvederm_Training.html>Juvederm training</a> on top of laser hair removal and other modern medical spa skills. The reason for the surge in laser school enrollments is due partly because these modern services come with a hefty price tag, which in turn, help to provide good paychecks and benefits for it’s staff.
Cosmetic Hair Removal Price Comparison Verses the Waxing Salon
• $50-$150 for a bikini/ back/leg wax
• $225-$2,000 for laser hair removal for bikini/ back/ legs
Cosmetic Photo Facial Verses Facial at the Salon
• $500-$1000 for Photofacial
• $50-100 for salon facial
Beauty School Verses Laser School
• $3,000-$5,000 for beauty school
• $4000 laser school
The pricing for beauty school is comparable to that of laser school. Graduates of laser school can expect to pay off their student loan faster than graduates of beauty school, where their salary is often less than the salary of laser school graduates.
When it comes to elective procedures like being hair-free or tattoo free that make people feel good about themselves, it doesn’t matter the price, people will pay for it. Nothing proves this fact more than looking at the enrollment rate of students at laser schools and the expansions of medical spas nation and world-wide. For a large majority of the nation, expensive salon treatments are definitely low on the priority list, but when it comes to being hair free or tattoo free for one’s wedding, or beach vacation, there are some things like peace of mind that you can’t put a price on.

The thought of waxing a body part can sometimes make people wince. Women who are familiar with the procedure know full well the feeling of having the wax removed from a body part; it is forever ingrained after the first pull. Why do people go through with such a painful hair removal procedure? Time is the biggest factor. Waxing removes hair for up to a month at a time which is highly desirable for people on the move. 10 minutes of discomfort is nothing when you take into account the advantages of not shaving or plucking every day.
Waxing is a fairly simple hair removal procedure. It involves spreading hot wax over the part of the body you want hair removed from. A strip of cloth is then placed over the area and allowed to connect itself to the cooling wax. Once the wax has reached the right temperature, the cloth is pulled off in a quick motion, taking with it the wax, hair, and root all at the same time.
Hot wax feels a little uncomfortable when it is applied but ask anyone who has gone through the procedure and they will tell you the hair extraction is the painful part of the action. Grown men who commonly wax their backs or chests will tell you of the intense discomfort associated with having a hair pulled out from the root. Women who frequent the beach during the summer months or who exercise regularly in skimpy clothing will tell you too of the discomfort associated with removing pubic hairs from the root. Why do people go through this pain? Is there an easier way to remove excess body hair?
The biggest advantage to waxing is the time it takes for the hair to grow back. Normally it takes hairs from 4 to 8 weeks to return to the point where you need to repeat the process. When the hairs grow back in, they are normally softer and finer than before. Repeated waxing might eventually make the hairs so fine and soft that they never grow back in. This does not happen always but can be a huge selling point. Women might spend 5 minutes a day shaving their legs which is about 30 minutes a week. Imagine telling a person they could save 2 hours a month in the bathroom by going through this procedure. It is a no brainer for some people who are very busy. Shaving every day can be a hassle for many people, it takes time and patience to shave every morning. Waxing provides a safe alternative to daily shaving habits and any other method used to remove hair.
Sugaring is a newer form of form of hair removal that is very similar to waxing. The substance used to remove the wax in this instance is a sugar mixture close to the texture of a caramel like sauce. The benefit is that it is easier to clean up than regular wax. A little water on the area where the hair was removed and its clean.
There are some negative side effects associated with waxing. Ingrown hairs, red bumps, rashes, and in some cases bleeding can occur after the procedure. This is more common among hairy men who go through the procedure since their strands are generally thicker and stronger. Short hair is easier to remove considering its proximity to the root. The first few procedures may produce the most skin issues but continued waxing will lead to softer and finer hair which should decrease the side effects.
Women might feel embarrassed going to a hair salon and having their private region waxed. Women need to assess this feeling themselves and decide on a regular waxing technician that they feel comfortable with if this is an issue. Home beauty supplies do sell some products that remove hair using wax. Home kits are cheaper than a salon appointment but the margin of error and the chances of developing skin related issues are higher when the removal process is not done by a professional.
Lastly, the price of waxing can be a deterrent to some. Select body waxes can cost upwards of fifty dollars which will make most people think twice. It might boil down to how valuable people consider there time to be.
Waxing as a whole is a safe alternative to shaving or plucking. Each person might have his or her own reason for choosing this procedure but as a whole, time will be the biggest factor in the decision. Most people who go through with this process crave the once per month hair treatment removal process over shaving daily.
