Bitch Pampering!

21 Nov

My sincere apology goes out to all the intelligent women in this world for my article title as well as for what I’m about to say, but my problem is that I’ve been completely unable to find you. Where are you??? After many years of trying every idea in my extremely creative repertoire, I’ve failed to find even one truly intelligent woman. Now I can’t stand hip hop music (gansta garbage) but my experience with women over the last 10 years has gradually forced me to agree with the writers that bitch is a fairly appropriate term for modern day women. The word pampering comes from the women themselves. It’s what they say they want. It’s their concept of being treated well and the proof is in the countless number of businesses that have flourished by catering to their slavish desires. There must be at least 2 or 3 nail salons on every busy block of every town and city in the United States. 50 years ago, there wasn’t a woman alive who would even consider having her toenails cut by another woman in full view of the public where she can be seen through the store front window.

Here’s a quote from the Oprah Magazine: “Could you use a little pampering this holiday season? Behold a harvest of luxurious beauty treats.” Yecccch! And then “When was your last long soak in the tub? And just how old is that loofah in your shower?” I don’t even want to think about that because I buy a new loofah every week, don’t I? For the past four years in St. Louis, the Women’s Support and Community Services Program has hosted a monthly Day of Pampering that has been extremely successful because women are able to get massages, pedicures, and facials from other women who donate their time and skills to help them feel pampered. It’s a cabal. If I never hear the words “girls night out” again it will be too soon for me! And from the United Kingdom comes this hot press release entitled Women Pamper Themselves: “Sales of bubble bath, face masks, massage oils and other female pampering products have more than trebled, suggesting that women in the UK are more concerned with making themselves feel loved and pampered than relying on the men in their lives. This steep rise in sales of indulgent beauty treats highlights the trend that women are ditching their men for their girlfriends!” Now what are all the sincere and desperate men supposed to do about a thing like that?

There’s a big difference between intelligence and wisdom. I don’t expect to find more than a handful of people in this world who possess true wisdom so I was nauseated to discover an organization called the Women of Wisdom Foundation who have a Sacred Pampering Day for Women, and I quote: “Women enter a healing temple and can sample a diverse selection of products and services from a variety of experts in the art of pampering women.” I can imagine Mother Mary up there somewhere being stunned by this spectacle of desecration in a thing somebody has the nerve to call a temple!

Here’s another press release from Naperville, Illinois, entitled Spa Girl Parties, Inc. – Pampering Women Across the Country 100 Times Over: “Welcome to the fabulously fun and pampered world of Spa Girl Parties where we cater to your need for pampering and your appetite to shop till you drop.” Need I say more? Is anybody gagging with a spoon yet? Next, a hot wire flashes from the Columbia University News Service: “Wilderness adventures now come with up-scale pampering. Your wilderness experience includes soft beds, fancy food and relaxation. This year’s menu includes a cheese and fruit tray, artichokes, chips with Mexican dip and salsa for appetizers; a mixed grill of pork tenderloin and duck, halibut and filet mignon for the main course; and apple pie, cobbler or tiramisu for dessert – all cooked in Dutch ovens.” Quite obviously, camping will never be the same. Modern day women have brought an entirely new meaning to the concept of “roughing it”.

And finally, what about waxing? Good Lord, even a queen bee doesn’t want to be waxed. This mysterious modern phenomenon is purported to be “the best way to get a smooth and shiny look around the bikini line. It removes everything in your nether regions, leaving you completely smooth everywhere under your underwear and you’ll never have to worry about escaping tendrils again.” Oh, I’m SO glad to hear that because those escaping tendrils had completely escaped my notice. And I notice everything when I’m down there! As a person who is inclined to notice things, it does not escape my superior power of observation that this entire article could easily be classified as a rant. However, even though the concept of men’s rights has been whittled down to a short paragraph, it still includes the right to complain.

What to do about dogs left in cars?
What is wrong with people? I work in a little craft shop. Some people just came in to do a project that could take up to 2 hours. They left 2 dogs in their car with the windows just cracked. I offered (at the risk of my job) to have her bring the dogs inside. She said no, they are fine and they get pampered at home. I can see the poor guys sitting there with the sun shining on them. I want to strangle this bitch. What is the proper thing to do?

Do the dogs appear to be in distress? If so, call the police or local humane society. If not, they are probably fine.

In many places this is considered animal cruelty and you can call the police. There was a woman where I live who is getting 90 days in jail for leaving a cat inside her car for three days. Last year this same woman killed her dog by leaving it in a hot car. If the animals appear to be suffering, it is considered cruelty and the cops will intervene to either force the owners to remove the dogs or break a window if the owners can’t be found.

Call animal control for the area the shop is in. You tried to talk to the owner, but you cannot help her/their ignorance!

Next time they do it, remove yourself from the same room and call the police on your cell phone and tell them you want to remain anonymous – tell them you were driving by and saw the dogs in the windows. let them handle it. If the dogs would die, and you didn’t do anything to stop it, aren’t you also responsible at least in Gods eyes. Take action for the dogs sakes

The best thing is write down the license plate number as well as the car make and contact the police. They also handle cruelty to animal issues.

The dogs were probably fine as long as it wasn’t too hot. I take my dog with me everywhere I can. You never know she might have had water for them in the car. Atleast she left the windows cracked.

In a situation like this you can call 911. This is an emergency. The dispatchers can call the animal control division and they should respond immediately. The citation (quite a hefty one I might add) should motivate the owner to leave the dogs home when she is going out. In most states it is illegal to leave a pet in that type of environment. This has been done at my place of work.

Is it really hot where you are at? or is the temp ok for them to be in the car? If it too hot and there is a possibility they could die of heat then you could call the Humane Society. If it is cool outside the dogs are probably fine.

You could use some kind of SPCA-style spiel or slogan on her, like jokingly quip, "Dogs die in hot cars, don’t you know" and then laugh. Or you could say something like "If the SPCA/Dogs Protection League saw that, they’d have you," again punctuating the humour with ditzy laughter. This usually works for me, people don’t know if I’m joking or not and then it needles their brain. Bwahaha.

Alternatively, offer to get the dogs a drink of water, at least they get to hop out and stretch their legs.

the proper thing to do is let the owners of the outcome if they leave them in the hot car even though the windows maybe cracked open, but a car can get at least 15-20 degrees hotter inside than outside. if that does not work and they leave them in the car then you will have no choice but to call animal control and let them know that some people left their dogs in a hot car and that the dogs don’t have any water. good luck

Or sneek and call the police,, have them come talk to the people,,
In some states it is a hefty fine to do that,,,,

    Good luck

you know somethi;ng .it is sad to hear this ..sometimes though you have to remember this maybe they cant leave the dogs at home for fear they will tear the place up..i think as long as the window is down for them to breath, and they come out every 15 minutes to give them water and check on them its ok..i know i sound dumb but they probably have done it before and found the dogs can handle a few hours.. i wouldnt do it unless i absolutely had no choice..foxi

well I think you are going to be in a store that and you don’t have anyone to watch me personally you shouldn’t because any thing can happen so I suggest that that you if you have small dog you should it in a dog purse but some restaurants don’t let you do that I would take my food to-go

Call the police or animal control. Depending on what area you’re in- animal control can issue tickets.

Personally (I would never advise this), but if that lady was being such a b**** about her "dog being pampered at home"- I would break her window to let the dog breathe. I can’t buy that this dog is "pampered" unless she thinks torture is pampering. I’d have told her you can’t pamper a dog if it died from heat exhaustion in your stupid (luxury no doubt) car because you wanted to do a craft in a store- leave the damn dog at home or give it to someone that will truly love it!!

But that’s just me- I hate ignorance and especially involving animals and kids that really can’t defend themselves from stupid owners/parents.

Call animal control, you don’t need to tell her it was you, just call the and explain what she’s doing and that she has actually said it’s OK. they’ll take the animals from her.
    You can call the RSPCA.

I would call the cops! I would never ever leave my dog in a hot car with the windows cracked for any amount of time. I have gone in the store only to stay maybe ten minutes and come back and the temperature will be 112 sometimes. That lady must be insane.

Those people anger me too. My advice is call your local Humane Society. They can best tell you what to do. If there isn’t one near you, call the police. It may seem silly considering all they have to do, but you may save an animals life.

    Hope that helps

I have 2 old english sheepdogs who love to go in the car but i wont let them when its hot and sunny . I got a great dog sign off ebay, it shows an o.e.s and says in big red letters —” for dogs sake, dont let them bake, 15 minutes is all it takes.” for a dog to die from heat stroke. I’ve had a lot of people remark on it, and it reminds other people who may be tempted to leave their dogs in a car, NOT TO, maybe one in the shop window would do the trick for you. Its a suttle hint, make sure she sees it, if that doesn’t work then report her, she does not deserve to have animals.

you should call animal control or the police. I did that once. They took my name, the locationof the car, the license plate, etc. I think they came out to ticket the car and I don’t know what they did with the dogs since I did not stick around to see what happened. But definitely notify your local animal control.

What a horrible cruel woman she is, the temperature inside a car is totally different to the temperature outside the car, if its hot out then you just add about another 10 to 15 degrees onto the outside temperature and that’s how hot it is in a car with the poor dogs sat on the inside of it, its like been in a pressure cooker for the poor dogs and you should never leave them in the car at anytime, its cruel, I would have just picked the phone up and reported her to the police, how dare she just brush it off and say there fine and they get pampered at home, so what sort of excuse is that hey, my dog is totally pampered and that is why I would never leave her locked in a car for anyone or anything, people who do that to dogs are more than irresponsible.

Call the police. dont give her the money back on the class as its like cancelling at the last minute. dcould shenot leave the dogs at home…..this is exactly the sort of attitude that needs to stop, some people are so dense
