Check out my other videos for instructions on cooking it.
RECIPE: 2 CUPS SUGAR, ¼ CUP LEMON JUICE, ¼ CUP WATER
MAKING THE SUGAR WAX:
Using a gas stove:
1.Put the ingredients in a saucepan and heat it on high. It will boil for approximately ten minutes.
2. Watch the bubbles carefully and when the bubbles turn a light brown color, turn the heat down till it’s as low as it can be. The wax should be turning a golden brown color.
3. Let it simmer for about another five minutes while watching very very carefully.
When the wax turns golden brown like the color in my videos then it is done.
(When the wax is on step three and is simmering take a tiny bit out on a spoon and run cold water over it. When it cools enough to touch, it should be stretchy. You can test it on your arm. Do this about every two minutes while the wax is simmering until it stretches out on your arm and pulls off easily. If it sticks and won’t come off it’s not done and if it’s brittle you’ve overcooked it.)
MAKING WAX USING AN ELECTRIC STOVE:
Follow the same steps but reduce the time alot.
Cook the wax on medium for 5 to 8 minutes.
Reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 6-10 minutes.
Watch the bubbles carefully and when the wax reaches the correct take it off heat immediately.
OTHER INFO:
Sugar waxing is very inexpensive to use. I use a method of pulling the wax up against the hair and then yanking it down. If you pull the wax off against the direction of hair you are only breaking off the hair strands and hair will grow back much faster. Also you can use an ice cube to close and tighten pores after waxing.
If you like to use strips then this is another way:
Put it on warm against the direction of hair growth (for example up your leg) , put your strip of cotton on (a towel, or old t shirt works) rub in the against the direction of the hair growth and yank it off with hair growth. Try not to get it on too thick (You can use a Popsicle stick for an applicator).
For storage put the hot wax into a glass container that won’t melt. You can put it in the microwave to reheat it for use.

If it’s too hard to …
If it’s too hard to stretch then it’s probably over cooked. Try warming it a bit and pulling it like taffy. Is it’s stretchy it’s usable

In sensitive spots …
In sensitive spots it can do that. It sounds like you cooked it right but sometimes it can get too warm and will start sticking. Try dusting the area to be waxed with cornstarch or baby powder. This will reduce stickiness and bruising

Hey, so I did this …
Hey, so I did this thing and it came out ok…waited till it solidified, then applied and it worked well for the first few rips, and then it became really liquid and stuck to my arm in bits and pieces (and it hurt like heck to rip off), so I just washed it off…is that just my lack of practice or did I cook it wrong? (oh and considering it’s my first time waxing…I got some bruise type spots…is that normal?)

Try putting it in a …
Try putting it in a bowl and stretching, pulling, and working it like taffy. It should turn a whiter color and be very sticky and stretchy. The try spreading it up your thigh and rip it down really fast. If it still won’t pull off, try spreading and ripping with a butter knife. (check out my other video to see how to do this).
And to help wax not stick, dust your leg with cornstarch or baby powder.
Let me know if it works!

By the way, and …
By the way, and just as a comment for “fun” here, please go out and rent the film “Caramel” to see a whole movie/plot set-up around a magical salon/circle of women friends that does this kind of waxing professionally.
PS: what’s a guy doing here?…promised my girl i’d learn this for when we’re on the road (eg brazilian amazon for next 1/2 year) and she can’t easily find any decent salons.

This can be used …
This can be used everywhere it’s great. It’s easier to use strips with underarms and face. Just spread the wax where you want (make sure you clean the area really well first and dust it with baby powder or cornstarch) then spread a piece of cloth over it and then rip it off

I had same problem. …
I had same problem. When it was hard I put the glass jar in the microwave for 1 minute and it soften. Waited 1 minute for it to cool and took a small amount out in hand. It was fairly sticky and a mess but kneaded it for a bit and then gave it a try and it worked perfectly
